Welcome to the Child Welfare League of America's (CWLA's) website. We've created this privacy policy because we respect the privacy of visitors to our site. Do I have to submit any personal information when I visit the CWLA website?

No. You don't need to give us any identifying information about yourself in order to access most of the CWLA website. You can visit our pages and learn about our programs and services without sharing any personal information.

Does CWLA collect any non-personal information from its website visitors?

Yes. Whenever you access CWLA's website to read or download information, CWLA collects certain non-identifying information from you. This information includes the number assigned to your computer whenever you access the internet (your "IP address"), the name of the domain from which you access the Internet (i.e., the time and date you access our site, the web pages you accessed, and the Internet address of the website from which you linked to the CWLA website.

If you are a donor we will not sell or rent your name, address, or e-mail to any other organization. CWLA produces an annual report listing names only of donors giving $500 or more annually. Please contact us if you wish to make your contributions anonymously and do not wish to be listed by name in this report.

How does CWLA protect security and confidentiality?

To protect your privacy, we use technologies and processes such as encryption, access control procedures, network firewalls, physical security and other measures. In addition, we allow only authorized employees or agents access to personal information. CWLA is very concerned about the privacy of any children who might visit our site. If we are notified that we have inadvertently collected personal information about any child, we will immediately delete that information from our database.
